Born in Minnesota, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Keilen Malecha. He served our country proudly in the United States Navy, where he retired after 20 years and opened his own business, Jerry's Heating and Air. After retiring from his business, you could find Gerald either fishing, riding on his tractor, or going to auctions. Mr. Malecha is survived by his wife, Barbara Malecha; a son: Allen Lee Malecha of Arizona; two daughters, Cheryl Lynn Williams (Donald), of Cross, and Tracy Ann Powell (Mark) of Donalds; seven grandchildren: Kaelan Malecha, Brandon Valbert, Jessica, Ashton and Abigayle Williams, and Joseph and James Powell; seven brothers, Leonard, Donald, Bob, Bill, Michael, Conrad and John; four sisters; Peggy, Pat, Francis and Sharon. Along with his parents, Mr. Malecha was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ann and Anne Marie and also a grandchild, Kyle Malecha. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2011 in McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel, 869 St. James Avenue from 1:00-2:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm.
